Is a belly on ring considered trashy?

I am 14, yes I am a little young, but I am very mature for my age. I have a job, I'm in honors courses, I get straight A's, and I have never really done anything bad. I think that they are a cute way for a person to express oneself, and I do not want it for promiscuous reasons. My parents don't want me to get one, but I think that I am mature enough to handle this decision by myself. I can't go behind their backs because I will feel too guilty. Any tips on convincing my parents would be great, or just state your opinion on belly on rings! Thank you!
