Why is my acne disappearing and reappearing?

i currently have acne on my face but when i leave my face alone more appears.i put stuff on my face like clean and clear but when i don't more appears.like this time when i didn't put anything on my face when i went to bed the next morning the both sides of my face were oilier and had more acne.Please help.Also if it has anything to do with this i don't pick or mess with my face that much but still more appears.
