Please help me with this make-up problem...?

I bought the Maybelline Superstay Silky Make-up in it's lightest shade (I'm fair-skinned). Apperantly, it's to dark on my skin and makes it look orange-y, even if I don't put a lot on. What can I do? I can't take it back, but it's bran-new and I hate wasting it. Please help!
