Is there anyone left in the world that wants go to to college for the right reasons?

i tell people i am interested in philosophy or english or anthropology and instantly become a lughing stock because those majors aren't "practical". people need to realize that the whole point of college is self enlightenment, not goign and sitting in a boring accounting cl all day then getting stuck in a boring job that you don't even enjoy just so you can make a buck. oh but you would be "practical". anyone else think there is something very wrong with that?!?
