Need help with stage in meiosis?

If u r talkin about gametic meiosis, which is found in human beings.......wat actually happens is initially the cell is diploid with 1 pair of chromosome(in form of chromatin),wen it enters s phase of interphase dna replication takes place and a complete new set is formed so nw two pairs of chromosomes are formed then in meiosis 1,logous chromosomes separate in anaphase1,nw in each cell u hv 1 of the chromosomes with two chromatids(remember the replication in s phase),nw without undergoin another interphase cells enter meiosis 2 where the separation of chromatids frm the bivalents take place and thus 4 haploid cells or rather gametes r formed, meiosis 2 is exactly similar to mitosis......did it help????
